| Policy
National policy is to extend housing and care choices to
vulnerable groups and to permit more people to live independently
in their own homes.
It is envisaged that there will be less reliance on more institutional
forms of provision like residential care homes or hospitals
and greater use of general needs accommodation with individuals
having more chance to choose who they want to live with, if
anyone and how they are supported.
