The Housing and Support Partnership (H&SP) is a specialist
housing and social care consultancy.
We specialise in consultancy, training, development and research
in housing where there is a connection with
social care and health.
The H&SP has been established since 1995. The founding
partners of the H&SP are Maurice
Harker and Nigel
King. They began the partnership to meet the gap in specialist
knowledge in the areas where housing, social and health care
services, policy and funding meet.
Policy and practice in housing, care and support has evolved
rapidly over the last 10 years - requiring housing and care
organisations to work within a range of complex and sometimes
conflicting policy initiatives. Most housing and care organisations
are dealing with some degree of change within their own organisation
whilst trying to understand and engage with the agendas of
other organisations.
The key strength of the H&SP is to help housing and support
organisations face change by putting new and innovative ideas
into practice within the context of complex policy frameworks
in housing, health and social care.

by the ODPM and particularly commended for the quality of
the supply mapping and needs analysis. At that time the Council
had commissioned, via a consultancy (The Housing and Support
Partnership), a comprehensive needs analysis which reported

The H&SP is committed to getting policy and good ideas
